Cleveland Clinic Case Competition

The 3rd Annual Cleveland Clinic Case Competition was held on Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April 8, 2016. We hosted 63 MBA and MHA graduate students comprising 16 teams that competed over the past two days.

The Case Competition is designed to offer graduate level students in health administration the opportunity to apply their coursework to a real-world situation and develop recommendations to a team of executives at an internationally recognized health system. Participants are given a weekend to develop recommendations to be reviewed by a team of Cleveland Clinic physicians and administrators.

The topic of this year's case competition was developing a plan for international growth in the London market. The final four teams provided a broad range of recommendations related to service lines, technology, market growth, brand recognition, among others.

The final four teams presented their case recommendations to executive judges:
  • Steve Glass, Chief Financial Officer
  • Marc Harrison, MD, Chief of International Business Development
  • Ann Huston, Chief Strategy Officer
  • Bill Peacock, Chief Operations Officer

The final round judges were so impressed with the quality of the presentations that they doubled the prize money for each award from fourth to first place (results below).

For those of you, who provided support to make this event possible, we want to thank you for your time, energy and passion in providing a great educational experience to students across the U.S and U.K.
